As a result of the EU Energy Performance of Buildings Directive, since October 2008, all rental properties now require an EPC prior to letting. The EPC must be available to a prospective tenant before they sign a tenancy agreement.
The EPC provides a rating graph, illustrating the energy efficiency of your property as well as recommendations of measures that can be taken to improve its efficiency. An EPC currently has a 10 year life and can therefore also cover future re-lets of your property.
At Johnson’s, we can provide your EPC through our local, domestic energy assessors. We can also provide EPCs for private landlords or homeowners who require one for the sale of a property.
For further information or to book an EPC, please contact Tom Tarver on 01386 761515.
